It was labour who committed to a referendum on creating the welsh assembly, and that referendum was won with a v narrow majority if you recall. Devolution is a process. Wales & Scotland are 2 different countries economically

Wales and Scotland are two different countries economically because here we make excuses for why we’re still better off being run by Westminster. Stop making excuses for Labour’s failings and start fighting to make Wales a better place to live.

The over 75’s in wales is higher than any other UK country, and still we are funded by the Barnett formula, the money has to go to different places in both countries. You clearly don’t understand what this country has gone through in thatchers yrs & expect a magic solution

How can you blame the Barnett formula while simultaneously backing our national government whose policy it is to survive on these Tory handouts? I don’t expect magic, but I expect better for the Welsh people.

Nic what is your magic solution to our economic ills?

Is that what the choice is between in your mind, Kevin? Labour, the Tories or ‘magic’? There is no magic solution. But we do need to recognise that Westminster isn’t working for Wales, and to stop making excuses for our own plight. Let’s find a real solution.

Just been blocked by Kevin, another Corbyn supporter who does not want to hear the truth.

His cause is (probably) admirable, but he’s fighting England’s battle at the expense of our own people. The English have the government they voted for, while we have a government content to be ruled by them.

So are you pro independence to fix our ills Nick? I’m open minded on it but still not convinced yet. I think you are being unfair to Labour supporters in Wales - we aren’t Westminster lackeys. We do what we think is best for Wales, but take a pragmatic rather than dogmatic view

It took me a long time to come around to the idea of an independent Wales, Kev. I was a bit of a unionist until I realised the effect it was having on our people. We’re pragmatic to our own detriment. A better Wales is out there and it’s not ruled by Westminster.

I understand where you are coming from Nic. But perhaps we are both at different stages on the same journey. I want the best for Wales but want to try a fair and progressive UK govt first. All options still open though if that doesn’t work - for me and many others in Welsh Labour

I do thanks - like I said I’m open minded, but currently feel a progressive and fair Union is our best option but we shall see
