Which division one driver is left except Loeb (part programme)? It certainly isn’t Ostberg or Breen, so who are thinking about?

Craig has many strengths but is relatively inexperienced, and has a very poor finish to start ratio - you can’t win if you don’t finish. He’s not a driver under full control yet. He has amazing promise but is not a better option than Evans or Sunninen for a full championship

Ostberg is a very good driver, but with 1 win from 130 or so WRC starts (mainly for full works teams). Also his Day 2 mental attitude is suspect. Australia was the first time we’d seen proper speed for a long, long time. Last time he was at MSport he was no more than a journeyman

Finland was a great drive and also day one in Australia was very good to see. Elfyn is younger and is I believe more than capable of leading a team now.

I also think that flat out roll that benched Dan had a lot to do with his mid season performance, even Ogier buckled a bit with the pressure this year in Portugal and Turkey, never did find out if Seb had the engine upgrade in Aus or not!

Easy when doing season comparisons to forget things like that. His bad luck on GB, where he was only driver anywhere near Tanak, and his fantastic drive in Spain where he really showed a drive under pressure was exceptional. Protected Ogier throughout Australia. Worthy of seat.
