I am calm but at the same time, I find it heinous that people are willing to downplay the ignoring of these gross offences against children because it does suit their political agenda. Maybe if more ppl were angry, survivors would have more of a voice

Looking into the background on the Islington story you shared there was a Guardian article published in 2003. From what I can see the police led the investigation at the time and found no evidence to substantiate the allegations. What should an MP do then? https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2003/jul/06/children.childprotection …

Interestingly the whistleblowers focus was on Hodge then and not Corbyn. It appears he has been sucked in only since becoming leader as the Tory press try to smear him. Margaret Hodge - John Mann’s friend and ally - is the person in need of scrutiny as then leader of Islington

There are several articles online dating back to '93. The consensus is that Labour let those children down. Here's something from 2017 http://www.islingtongazette.co.uk/news/crime-court/islington-kids-homes-scandal-why-did-police-pull-plug-on-new-child-abuse-probe-1-5022869 … The last line is interesting

Here's one from 93 but if you prefer to call it all a John Mann inspired witch hunt, that's on you. https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/witness-stalinist-reluctance-to-study-the-facts-1621767.html … I don't think there's anything wrong w acknowledging that he hasn't always been on the right side of history

I honestly think you are trying to weaponise something just to bash Corbyn. His role in this is peripheral at best. Margaret Hodge and the Met police are central. That’s where your focus should be

Kevin, if you are made aware that a child or children are being abused and you do nothing, you are complicit, not peripheral. If Hodge was central, so was he. He knew, she knew & neither did anything. This isn't weaponising anything. But hey, have it your way.

But he did something - he spoke with the LA and there had been an assurance from the police nothing was going on. I really think you don’t want to understand that to make your point. He’s an MP not an investigator.

Labour knew and did nothing. Which part of that are you struggling with? There were kids in care in Islington being raped & looking for support, social workers told Labour but Corbyn did nothing. Now stop talking about this to me, please, because it's pointless.

You raised it not me - I think blame should be attached to the Labour administration in Islington at that time as the politically accountable body. It appears they did not prioritise resources as they should have for safeguarding
