What a bloody mess we are in as a country due to Cameron - he’s divided the nation and buggered off. If only the Lib Dem’s hadn’t installed him as PM in 2010. Clegg and Cable gave a lot to answer for

He gambled and lost. The referendum was a sure fire vote winner suggested by some ideas rat at Tory central, and on paper it was a no brainer. He subsequently misjudged the mood of the electorate when following through with a manifesto pledge. A cautionary tale for politicians.

You can’t blame the Lib Dems, they didn’t include the referendum promise in the subsequent Tory manifesto. They were just glad to have their 15 minutes of fame.

But Clegg and Cable did put Cameron into power in the first place in 2010. He couldn’t have carried out his crusade of destruction without them and in turn call the referendum. Reap but you sew
