More lateral links higher up in sub-networks and between sub-networks globally are what will eventually save humanity from itself, not "the left" (or the right).

The Syrian regime is holding elections today, a decade into waging war against its own people. Many leftists have obscured this fact by spreading state propaganda. Rather than engage, @joeyayoub argues for building transnational bonds across our diasporas: lausan.hk/2021/periphery

The only way to avoid getting what you say/ write twisted and used to claim you said or believe something totally different, and if you're someone with enough followers to be worth harassing then that too, is to stay absolutely loyal to one side of bigoted fanatics or the other.

Israeli propaganda fanatics are so exhausting with their blatant bad faith arguments and brute force repetition. No wonder people give up trying to discuss any issue relating to I-P reasonably, bc it's impossible without extremists on both sides twisting anything and everything.

Today in Berlin a citizen led pro-nuclear demonstration hugely outnumbered the paid up staff of anti-nuclear Greenpeace with their slick and expensive stage set piece. Such an inbalance represents the sentiments of the public. Around the world polling makes it abundantly clear… Show more

'remembrance agents' would also help with the mismatch between the human environment of evolutionary adaptedness when our social heuristics had enough reliable social cues, incl memory of previous interactions and relationships, to function more accurately

Boris Johnson, the day after the Skripals attack, lost his MI6 minders and travelled to Italy to go to Lebedev's party, and claims he did not discuss any government business "as far as he can remember". He's lied so many times the last clause is a clue.

funny how all these 'National Conservatives' turn out to be in league with a hostile foreign power and conspiring to increase Russian and allied authoritarian regimes' strategic influence over democratic states and to subvert constitutional democracy to make it more dysfunctional

Yes, you can retort that the leader of the Opposition at the time was and is similarly compromised. And Boris Johnson too. That doesn't really exculpate you or your party at all. Both are guilty and their separate acts of treason do not cancel out.

"they are worried that she is now at risk of repelling the kinds of swing voters the party is desperate to retain" Yet they kept quiet as long as they thought she was useful for their party's grip on power, nevermind the long-term harm she does to society.

So it isn't even in the self-interest of the relatively more democratic states to side with this state strategically. Choosing this way means they're effectively more on the side of the global network of kleptocratic authoritarian regimes, not just sitting on the fence anymore.

A democratic in values and principles state would not oppose extending the legal principle of universal jurisdiction to crimes against humanity and not only genocide. This is a decisive sign which way the Israeli government have chosen to go in the current global hybrid war.

Would #Israel, claiming to offer refuge to survivors of WW II atrocities - among them my grandparents - oppose the prevention and punishment of crimes against humanity? This is what took place at the @UN Sixth Committee (Legal) this week:

Calling Ukrainians "Banderites" and "nazies" is the same as calling Syrians "terrorists". This strategy is so far overused and abused by russian state officials and their western apologists. It is a way to silence and dehumanize victims of the real-time genocide.

Musk treating a classically obvious and widely known example of a Kremlin associated grey propaganda outlet as credible and giving it new network connections again. Links to more evidence it is that in the thread.

Not shocked to see the owner of twitter replying to an account that regularly promotes Kremlin and Syrian regime propaganda. The account was also infamous in claiming that the child victims of the Sandy Hook massacre were crisis actors.

If Trump wants America to be great, why is he so popular with America's worst enemies? Putin accurately sees Trump as his best hope to weaken the US, prolong his dictatorship, and continue his war on Ukraine.

Meanwhile in Russia: state TV propagandists on every channel aired multiple clips of Trump's interview with Tucker Carlson. Their main takeaway: "Donald said that America is tired of fighting Russia and should surrender." Watch: youtube.com/watch?v=pFLxXD

Do you know what a capsizing boat sounds like? When 50, 60 or 123 people fall into water? What it sounds like when they try to swim, calling you? What it's like when the calls become fewer, it becomes quieter & quieter? The sea can be the quietest & saddest place in the world.

The story that it's a principled defense of press freedom, like defending fair trial procedural rights even for the worst criminals, doesn't match with the consistent long-term pattern of omissions for much more clearly innocent and unjustifiably persecuted cases.

If the real original motive for the 'Free Assange' campaign was about defending public-interest investigative journalism's freedom to expose government abuses, I'd expect it to also cover the 100s of other journalists who are much more clearly deserving of this much attention.

Assange is a bad actor. Fox News paid millions of dollars to settle a lawsuit over its decision to amplify the Seth Rich conspiracy theory promoted by Assange to create distance between himself & Guccifer 2.0 (a Kremlin cut out). 1/ twitter.com/RepRashida/sta…
