Would like understand this a little more. Trying to ask in very good faith! If someone who is non-indigenous is interested academically in an indigenous languge (for example), is there anything they can do *in addition* to that to right this? Or should they just turn around?

i was thinking your answer might be “turn around” because I don’t know if its considered that an outsider’s academic interest in something like indigenous languages is a kind of.. exercising of privilege and very.. idk the word... ignorant of the struggles you mentioned
