how ladder decks and tournament decks can be so different?
On tournaments there are special rules like you can only use one faction on one deck or there can be bans etc. A lot of factors that affect how you should build your lineup
Exactly. Also, due to cardlock or regionlock, making a lineup makes it so, if you use a deck on a lineup, you can't use certain decks or forcing you to use a specific deck. Basically there's a lot of variety to play and it's controlled since decklists are shown to both players
