My guess is that I have retweeted some bot Tweets. I suppose I should check before retweeting anything.pic.twitter.com/YoirCH72VC

From my understanding, the more important roles of sea ice are in affecting the albedo of the planet and heat transfer from ocean to atmosphere.

The report does not take into account increase in vehicle utilization / decrease in car purchases. Not enough to change sign, but reduces magnitude. For example, I did not replace my car and use Lyft when it is raining [else 373cc motorcycle]. https://www.europarl.europa.eu/news/en/headlines/society/20190313STO31218/co2-emissions-from-cars-facts-and-figures-infographics …pic.twitter.com/ce3Zt69vep

John Cook (
@johnfocook) and George Mason University (@GeorgeMasonU) are crowdfunding for a smartphone game to help teach people about techniques used to cast doubt on climate science. They would appreciate your help. Hopefully, it will be fun to play. https://advancement.gmu.edu/s/1564/GID2/16/interior-1col.aspx?sid=1564&gid=2&pgid=4854 …pic.twitter.com/Ru2AJt6DB2

The first paper we published on this topic was in 2002: https://agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1029/2002GL015911 … A decade later, we published this paper: https://www.nature.com/articles/nclimate1373 … Solar effect is small relative to effects of CO2, water, nutrients, etc. And there are papers by others...pic.twitter.com/2sw4H3UE6J

I think it is really cool that a plant-like algae might be controlling the motion of an animal. However, apparently, more directly policy-relevant science gets a lot more likes and retweets than plain old cool science.

New blog post (and paper in Coral Reefs): "Who is controlling who? The curious case of the algae and the sea anemone" Is a plant-like algae controlling the motion of an animal? Nature continues to surprise.
