We talked about this yesterday, these companies are making history, we nerds out there know how hard this work is, but I get what you guys say. There's even people asking for money to keep cameras rolling to watch SN5 flying for 30 seconds.

Yeh, can't really compare small sat launchers to companies like SpaceX, though. SpaceX can dismiss launch failures due to a good media / marketing team and a 'cooky' CEO. Small Sats don't have that luxury. They don't garner 'fanboys' like SpaceX. Different beasts entirely.

Nah, disagree. The openness and the livestreams that SpaceX produced in its early days were what got me and many other people excited in them in the first place. It builds community and fan base when we feel more included in the successes and failures. Extremely valuable to me.

I agree it gets people interested, and can build a fanbase, however a fanbase doesn't generate Astra money. They can't turn a profit if no customers want to use them because they broadcast a failure. Astra definitely appreciate the support, but pleasing the fans is not priority.
