Agreed, this strike should be illegal. It is a career ender. Who can we talk to about this?

This in now way is a knock on Rountree. His performance and execution was great to watch. But this strike should be addressed.

Oblique kicks don’t make much sense to me, athletes are getting seriously injured resulting in longer layoffs, company is paying for surgeries and rehabs..

But getting concussions & possible long term effects is okay? I’m a fan of the sport but I don’t understand this narrative from some fighters & fans? It’s part of the sport & fighters know the risks. Which is why they deserve the upmost respect.

It’s obvious what the result will be from such a kick. At least w/most positions (armbar, heel hook for ex.) the opponent at least has the chance to tap out before an injury occurs. That kick gives no such opportunity. #UFCFightNight

I can see the argument that it leads to longer layoffs which isnt fair on anyone but that points more to fighter pay than the move itself, you know the risks when you get in there, the compensation should get better, devolving movesets isnt the answer
