I was thinking about him last week and @soledadobrien it was such a sobering Saturday AM, to loose such a great man and journalist. He was able to tell a story like nobody else and Sat. mornings changed forever. @soledadobrien was strong and poised and helped us get through it.

I'm sorry for your loss. As a viewer, I think of him often, especially when I'm on planes and remember DVT risk, which gets me to stand up and walk around for a moment.

I can’t believe that was fifteen years ago. He is very well remembered and missed.

I can't believe it's been 15 years! I know this sounds insincere, but I still think of him and how he was taken too soon.

It was very sad not to see him come back from iraq. I hope his wife and daughters are doing well in their life.

It says something about a person’s impact and the legacy they left behind when so many people can recall the exact moment when they heard he died and the deep despair they felt. 15 years later from people that didn’t know him personally but he made them feel like they did.

"Young Dave" -as we called him in our early days at WTVJ- was so full of curiosity & energy. He was a friend who plowed a path. He & I had done a "double box" long interview, and back-&-forth with each other just hours b4 the sadness. Hard 2 believe/accept still 15-yrs later.

I’ll never forget watching him provide coverage of the Iraq war, the coverage which ultimately led to his passing.
