That's fine, but (though I'm not in any sense a Trump supporter) this exact usage of the term doesn't by itself connote any racism. It's extremely common language with most people not knowing the background of the word.

Slur means insult. This has nothing to do with race.

A slur against a race has to do with race. Again, I'm not a Trump supporter (far from it), but the implication in the original tweet is that Trump doesn't like Irish people, and that just doesn't seem plausible. Anyway, I'm a fan of yours––no worries.

People use it without understanding its roots...that was the whole point. I am not suggesting there was intention...you are reading far too much into it.

Don't you have anything better to do. I am Irish from both sides of my family, married an Irish girl and have Irish kids & in no way is this offensive. Irish people earned that reputation long ago right along with fighting Irish. You can't change history no matter how PC you are

"I want my victimhood too!" Toughen up snowflake, I'm Irish and call them paddy wagons, and don't really care why they're called that.

As an Irish American & not a Trump voter, this is ridiculous. It's a common term. "So it ain't like I'm braggin' just join the paddywagon cause I ain't 2 proud 2 beg, " ~ TLChttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmH4_pr6mH0 …

I’m Irish and I’m NOT offended! This is another mission to place a slur on my President and its BS!

Well, if you look back at your tweet, it certainly does have something to do with race. Unless you don't look at the Irish as a race.
