-Suspect Amari Pollard, 19, went to his car to retrieve gun(s) moments before shooting. He was not “waiting” at entrance armed, according to police.

Ambulance followed by two police cars entering Vanderbilt University Medical Center ER, after police say suspect was shot in gunfire exchange w/ police and en route to hospital. Suspect believed to have shot Metro officer. That officer is in critical condition.

UPDATE: Suspect engaged MNPD SWAT officers behind a brush pile on Upshaw Dr. The suspect was wounded in an exchange of gunfire. He is en route to a hospital. No other officer was injured.

1st pic is my Uncle Bobby, KIA in Vietnam at 21. My father (on tank, w/ kids & buffalo) was drafted not long after his older brother was killed. Dad didn’t have to go, since an immediate family member paid the ultimate price. But he went anyway, at 19. No explanation needed there

There has been a lot of debate about whether Covenant School shooter Audrey Hale's manifesto should be made public and to what extent. Metro Police are the lead investigators so they are the agency that will determine this but they said they don't have a timeline.
