This isn't rocket science. And yet those who understand the point @aliamjadrizvi is making here appear to be outnumbered by actual rocket scientists. https://twitter.com/WSAGcort/status/1053396961188081667 …

Let me explain. The Quran preaches violence. Islam is the religion of peace. It's really not that difficult, Sam!

Even Sam himself espouses violence when necessary for self defense. Violence is not always the opposite of peace. Sometimes peace is gained through the threat of violence.

...but in this case that's not the point, but thanks for sharing.

So what exactly is 'the point' in this case? I thought I understood the point, but you clearly don't think I did.

Islam is a violent religion based on a violent book written by a violent man.

"And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death." If Christians can drop these commandments, muslims can drop theirs.

That's Leviticus, which is recognized by Islam/Muslims. However, that's not a Christian doctrine. Christian doctrine recognizes the NEW covenant, not the old. Otherwise, Christians would still be vegetarians and make sacrificial offerings... and stone adulterers and adulteresses.

From my limited reading quotes of Jesus used to justify abandoning punishments/rituals from O.T. - they only abandon in certain interpretations. I.e. Acts 13:39

See Paul's discussion on circumcision in Acts, and you'll see what I'm talking about. See also Jesus's meeting with the divorced woman at the well. John 4. He didn't stone her, barely rebuked her.

Yes I just read the circumcision quote, and have heard of the rebuke. I think you're right.
