The American housing market is existentially, institutionally, systemically, irredeemably, unalterably racist to its core. It has always been. It will always be. As long as we rely on it to produce housing, these are the outcomes we will continue to get-50+ yrs after Fair Housing

I remember an incident when my mother told me a realtor asked about mixed race child who visited wanted to call to ask if child was playing outside before she brought clients telling my mom property values would decline made my mom upset clearly racist that our white family not!
It’s has been largely true but is changing more to a class based approach : plenty of white working people cannot buy a home now. Enormous , concentration of weath at the top combined with homelessness for too many.

You have to look at what homes they’re buying comparatively. Some cultures tend to different preferences regarding how much debt they’re willing to take.
