Unfortunately, too many well-intentioned lawmakers continue to focus on the means of violence used, and not on the underlying problems that facilitated the violence. As a result, they push misguided policies that infringe on the fundamental rights of law-abiding Americans.

We need mental health professionals in our elementary schools, so help can be given early. Elementary classrooms are evacuated more frequently now because of serious behaviors. This issue needs to be addressed nationally. I think the public would be surprised.
