.: “The impact is going to be felt for generations. The numbers are staggering. As the first Upstate governor in 100 years, I’ve seen the rise, I’ve seen the fall. Now I’ve been around long enough to see Upstate rise again, and this is going to be the catalyst.”

Such an important read from of the Times ed board. We need to build much more #housing in and around NYC — and do it fast.

If it doesn’t build more housing, fast, New York will soon shut out young, working-class and middle-class people. Only the wealthiest will remain, along with NIMBY holdouts sprinkled across the city. nytimes.com/2022/09/28/opi

Thousands of #Queens residents make their way through Penn Station every single day. And as said, we all deserve a state-of-the-art transit hub that is worthy of us and our city. A new Penn Station would be a game changer for New York City and our shared future.

My former boss, Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, called the demolition of the original Penn Station, “the greatest civic crime in New York History.” We’re righting that wrong with a new Penn Station — a world-class transit hub that puts commuters and communities first.

In 2019, #PennStation served 600,000 commuters every weekday. It was built to handle 200,000. Fixing Penn is long overdue. We commend and the for the release of the first of many RFPs and support the efforts to Fix Penn Fast!

New Yorkers deserve- and can have- nice things. We've been sold a bill of goods on Penn so many times we've lost faith anything meaningful will ever happen. Gov Hochul brings the vision and tenacity to get it done. Let's get to work.

The era of neglecting Penn Station commuters & the neighboring community is over. We're investing in a Penn Station worthy of New York — one that puts New Yorkers first, invests in our future, & helps us build a more sustainable, livable city. nydailynews.com/opinion/ny-ope
