kinda highlights how little they know and how flippantly they treat... uh, everything? Reminds me a lot of the religious conservative parents I grew up around. Getting closer to Jesus was the cure for everything, goddamn it's so easy how didn't i think of that

Every medical condition has a different treatment. Their example would suggests that they should all be treated the same. I guess they think hypoplastic left heart syndrome should be treated by teaching self-acceptance instead of meds and surgery.
