Terribly sad news about our former Guardian colleague Susie Steiner, who became a very successful novelist and was always a talented writer and editor. She was also great fun.

A lot of reporters give up when they're told they can't have a document. Kudos to for sticking at this and winning a legal battle that sets a useful precedent for future journalists who want access to papers referred to in employment tribunals.

Wow. Less than 24 hours after the Credit Suisse leak, the powerful centre-right block in the European Parliament raises the idea of adding Switzerland to an EU blacklist to prevent money laundering. That would put it in league with Iran and North Korea.
