Six is a relief after yesterday, especially when Wednesday is traditionally spike day. Great to see the rolling average dip below ten. But it's a sobering thought that people are still dying.

if a bar has a person with COVID-19, and is also poorly ventilated and loud, causing people to speak loudly at close range, almost everyone in the room could potentially be infected—a pattern observed many times, and is similarly not captured by R.

I wonder whether parks have been patrolled today for gathering breaches. This is one park in one suburb, and the majority appeared to be friends catching up, from more than 2 households. Clearly assuming the rule won’t be policed. Not saying they should be fined, just curious.

I understand the need to set limits, but counting small kids among the 5 people in outside gatherings effectively rules out families from enjoying this new rule. Means my four-person household can only see a single person. Lucky I don’t have more kids or we couldn’t meet anyone.

It’s fair enough that she believes she alone is not responsible for the second wave. The inquiry has made it clear it was a group effort, not just politicians but public servants too.

The Health Minister has resigned, inevitably, after the week’s evidence at the hotel quarantine inquiry. Interesting that although she acknowledged the buck stopped with her, that’s not the reason she’s quit. It’s because she’s clashed with the Premier.
