Should a country’s carbon footprint include the carbon of imports consumed, or should that carbon be allocated to the exporting country?
(I suspect both views can be useful depending on the question being asked!)

Hi, I think this is a really valuable question. Both nations benefit from the CO2 emissions: the importer gets the products, the exporter gets the jobs. I find a compelling ethical case for apportioning footprint responsibility 50% on each party.

"More for less" is nonsense. The whole point of the economy to is extract and distribute. the bigger the economy gets, the more is extracted and (somewhat) distributed (and the more rubbish emitted).
