I am not excited to say that there were similar problems in the raw data of another of my papers - this paper is now retracted too. I know there might be some interest in what's going on so here is the full account of how and why I came to this decision:

Yale is looking for a tenure track faculty member (deadline Feb 21) that works on human-wildlife coexistence! Pretty awesome sounding to me. Share widely with your networks. So great to see coexistence getting more attention.

In our paper () we see that following the controversy about Moller in the late 90s, sexual selection has kept being an active field of research. This episode may have affected the influence of papers led by Moller, as the "Moller" node has then shrinked.

How about a positive thread? What's your favorite manuscript that independently replicates some aspect of a retracted study due to data? I'd love to highlight folks who have been overshadowed. Provide your own, if you have one, especially if you're a student or ECS!!

There are many raw data files to sort through, and this is an added burden to a group of stressed co-authors. If anyone here is willing to volunteer a few hours to delve into data files to confirm there are no sources of concern (hopefully), or identify concerns, please reply

I’d also like to remind you that many of us are also struggling with the the personal side of this. The sense of loss and sadness is acute, which makes this process all that much harder. CV lines aside, a relationship of mine with someone I care about has irrevocably changed.

I too am double checking the dataset I received and intend to be as open and transparent as possible with whatever irregularities may appear. Like it would be useful to hear any advice for this type of data forensics

P.S. A hashtag is going to be useful but the antics of ex-EPA Scott Pruitt means that is not unique; I've suggested (which is also more neutral).

There are also good things to notice from . Co-authors and others that got data from Pruitt have absolutely done the right thing, which shows us that a lot of people CAN be trusted. If anything, this shows us the importance of replicating and examining other studies!

"So to be clear, the co-authors have in every instance I know of reacted admirably and honorably to a difficult and stressful situation. They should in no way be penalized for being the victims of either carelessness or fraud by another whom they had reason to trust."
