I pulled together a PDF toolkit with screening information, some basic safety info, a worksheet to safety plan in case of arrest, #KYR in case of arrest, and what to expect from your attorney - if any #sexworker / organizer wants a copy, please DM me your email.

To our second video, which focuses on the experiences of street-based sex workers who are driven into more dangerous situations by our backwards laws around sex work:

Street s*x work is the most dangerous form of s*x work with the highest rates of violence. Laws against soliciting mean street workers are forced to work in dark areas with no CCTV, and face pressure to enter a client’s car quicker to avoid being caught. @HAHcampaign

We're the only sex worker-led campaign against the cost of living crisis. We won't allow sex workers to be silenced in favour of those who would speak for - and over - us. Sex workers' voices are at the heart of each one of our videos, from our launch vid:

Domestic $exworkr groups can submit info for the TIP report as well, and that link still provides all the information, but I'm hoping that there is capacity for some background infrastructure work so people who don't want to write their own can plug into something

My office has started Ubering our clients to places they need to be to do things like see their kids, get public benefits, get to their appointments, and connect them with material needs. So far the total cost has been less than $1500 in a total of 6 months. 1/

I’m on the train for 5 hours today so thought I’d do a few reflections on stuff I’ve learned here. The rescue industry is big in Spain. There’re orgs & individuals making a living from the marginalisation of sex the workers & so they’re invested in maintaining the status quo.1/6

n.b. Lots of stuff circulating on here the last few days trying to substantiate how people are being targeted—the Club Q shooter’s dad video, the “antifa” “purge” list—but just want to take a beat to say it’s not always necessary to amplify the content to communicate the risk

My consistent, singular issue with every podcast from is that I listen and then get rage-level upset about shit from 2006 and no one else wants to be freshly angry with me about it.

folks may find this data shocking. as and others have taught us, policing is designed to be sexually violent. cops have absolute legal authority to touch, move, lock you, and otherwise violate bodily autonomy. this creates context and cover for routine sexual harm

Every year I invite people who are celebrating the colonial holiday to do something in support of Native people. Indigenous people in the U.S. experience some of the worst rates of illness, poverty & unemployment. To make matters worse, Native families are under attack. (THREAD)

That's comforting, these "liberal" narratives of progress—and even in the face of lethal violence, they are still easy to impose: the good guys are enlightened straight people, the bad guys are Republicans they already loathe, and queer and trans people are just passive objects.

When you are narrating the massacre thru the eyes of the vet who helped stop the massacre by disarming the gunmen, but not quoting queer and trans community, intentionally or not, media is allowing anti-LGBTQ violence to become a story about good straight people.

The commitment to using women’s vulnerability to violence as an excuse to expand policing & prisons is the same conversation as the commitment to proliferate violence against women. They are the same people increasing, then exploiting, the fear & actuality of violence.

I have just learned that the absolute incredible pioneer of sex worker’s rights Carol Leigh (aka the Scarlot Harlot has died 😢She is the reason we use the language of sex work. Every year I show students her 1991 doc to teach about the history. RIP ☂️💔 archive.org/details/Outlaw

A SWer I look up to tweeted that negotiating rates is ultimately limit testing. How you react to this will help them to determine how far they can push your boundaries. I read this as a rule, and have conducted my practice by it ever since.

When I was an asshole middle schooler, I definitely went to the thesaurus and tried to make myself sound like I knew what I was saying. I often didn't use the word I thought I was using, I definitely had the worst sentence structure, but MAN was I confident. Anyway, this guy.

As I was getting off the plane last night, a stewardess asked what I was so excited about. I told her I'd won my election & was the first trans woman elected in Montana. She immediately teared up. "My son is trans," she said, & began to tell me about all the joys/fears... [1/3]
