    On Taliban & women rights: important to remain focused on legal rights and next steps for existing legal rights of women. That should be the baseline. Behavior/practice can change overnight & tends to be context specific/varied by province, local “authorities” etc

    My latest: President Ghani, who fled , was a polarizing and abrasive leader who was unwilling to compromise or cede power. Instead of peace, he oversaw the end of 20 years of democratic rule in as the Taliban seized power in Kabul.
