I’m not sure I fully agree. I think there’s still lotsa education needed about why research is valuable and how to do it. That said, if someone has gone through an accelerator or growth training, is given direction and research tools & STILL won’t buy-in, they may be a lost cause

I always tell founders that selling (or preselling) is the best way to validate an idea and ensure performance. Lots of people will tell you they would buy something but the only true indicator is if they pull out their wallet for it.

1000% agree. I’ve made the mistake of building before pre-selling myself and I have the scare tissue to prove it.

Many have build successful ventures by scratching their own itch which happened to be the ones that, "Wooo, I want that, too!" Some created something no one knew they needed. There are many variables involved with each journey.

If they just hanged out a bit more with the people who will be buying their brilliant inventions, instead of the investors who will put the money and own everything, maybe the results would be more efficient, don't you think?

Most definitely. Too many founders come up with an idea and then arbitrarily choose a target market hat they not actually know that much about. This can be a recipe for disaster.
