This year has been HORRIBLE for fundraising. I’ve tweeted about it a lot lol. Orgs have gone out of business, including several of our partners, people are struggling, I have had several shitty convos with other friends running orgs about how bad this year is.

I was working so hard earlier this year trying to keep us together that I was sick in bed for six weeks and during that I still had to get on planes to try to raise money. It’s been a bad year.

But Texas? Texas never. slowed. down. They never stopped, never complained, never gave up. Led by the amazing
@durrelllllll they tightened their belts, found new ways to save money, and rededicated themselves to the mission.Show this thread -
Out staff Ramon, My’Easha, Aisha, Kat, and all of our incredible volunteers worked day in and day out to not only keep getting IDs but to find new ways to raise money so they could keep serving their community. These people are my heroes.

I cry a lot about what an amazing team of ride or dies I have and Texas is at the top of that list. It’s no surprise that they’re our first state to reach 1000 IDs. What is that saying about Texas doing it bigger?

When you run or work for a nonprofit, you will have hard times. It’s in the nature of the business. There were so many times this year when I was ready to give up and accept defeat. Dark, dark times. But with a team like the
@SpreadTheVoteUS team I am more drive than ever.Show this thread -
I know we’ll survive, I know we’ll make it through these leanest (leeeaaannnnnest) of times, and I know that we’ll keep changing lives every day no matter what. And that’s because of people like
@durrelllllll and our incredible Texas heroes. I love them so much. Well done team.pic.twitter.com/H1t0AigIc1Show this thread -
