        With all due respect, that is not totally correct. Economists admire and respect other domains, which is why they integrate mathematics, computer science, and behavioral sciences into Economics. You should become one.

        I also like @rodrikdani argument. If you have a Ph.d. in economics you will be able to read journal in other discipline, but not the other way around.

        Economics done the right way is exactly like this :) Not sure it always is done like this... But I think this gets at exactly why economics can be such an amazing field.

        It’s also why I feel drawn to economic history specifically. It’s not the history per se that I prefer (though that’s cool too), it’s that economic historians are so much more willing to connect economic reasoning to a broader context, do interdisciplinary work, etc.
