Like A. As a person who does the comics? Heroes, antiheroes, & villains face no lasting consequences. Because they can't if the stories are going to keep happening. Comics are just like soap operas that way. B. Even if they are going to face repercussions? This is a series

So, the part of the story you see in Wandavision will wrap in Dr. Strange (maybe) but might be a persistent thread through the next 8 movies. We'll see. It's never a self contained story though, because comics loves a messy multipart character arc. It's integral to the format.

And it's why you keep coming back. Now, there's a wonderful argument to be made about women in comics and how much higher a price they pay than male characters. The misogyny is right there built into the format. And race is a forever issue in comics. Because..whew shit it's bad

Legacy characters in particular go through seasons of being the heel or the face (yes I brought in wrestling terms, go with me here) because their temporary salvation and damnation are the hook that allows for decades of the same characters drawing us in over and over.

Also, and I will die on this hill, the "Well Wanda should go into federal custody" argument would work way better if she wasn't actively a danger to literally everyone, even in her sleep at this point of the story arc this show is drawing from...

See also everyone in the Avengers (but not necessarily IRL, thank gods) being okay with Quill's grief ruining their first best chance of stopping Thanos.

Or for Peter bleeping Quill, who CAUSED THE SNAP because he couldn't wait THIRTY BLEEPING SECONDS to punch out Thanos. But you know it's okay because *checks notes* he was grieving.

, while people want Wanda to face a class action lawsuit for her “crimes,” where was this energy when Clint committed hate crimes because he was sad?
