Hey, don't want to interrupt my Democratic friends when they're engaged in their favorite sports of The Gnashing of Teeth and The Tearing of Garments, but it looks as if the Democratic Party will have the best midterm performance by a party in the White House in two decades.

Be furious Ontarians! Against his word, Doug Ford is planning to open up the Greenbelt for development with his developer friends. Greenbelt is a major economic driver, protects critical nature & species, provides much needed parks & trails, supports climate resilience.

In more #onpoli news, the Ford government is set to open the Greenbelt up for development. While @fatimabsyed & @EmmaMci dig deep to understand what’s going on, here’s EVERYTHING you need to know about it — from how it was founded to why it’s protected. thenarwhal.ca/ontario-greenb

This new internal investigation is under the auspices of Interim Chief, Steve Bell. We don’t know the results yet. But never mind. The old gang appointed a new Chief who will not be accountable . Will anyone be held responsible for anything? #EmergenciesActInquiry #cdnpoli

The Ottawa Police Service has launched an internal investigation into allegations police provided 'Freedom Convoy' protesters a "steady stream" of information. ottawa.ctvnews.ca/ottawa-police-

This isn’t my take away at all. There has actually been plenty of evidence that when they needed to they could very much influence the truckers. It’s a convenient narrative for them now because they want to distance themselves from the harm they caused but I’m not buying it.

It’s seems increasingly clear through police and protester testimony that the convoy leaders had little functional control over the occupation.

Funny how private sector workers get the greatest raises yet the pervasive idea that public sector workers are undeserving of better compensation persists We have the resource for everyone to earn a decent living. Let's stop the wealthy hoarding it all. Punch up, not down!

Actually this CBC chart is great (sourced from CUPE and Ont. govt data). It contextualizes unionized workers' wages by sector vs. inflation.

New Democrats have called for an Emergency Debate in Parliament. The Conservative govts trampling on the constitutional rights of educational workers is disturbing. The rights of workers in Ontario and across Canada are at stake. The federal govt must take immediate action.

The Ford govts use of the notwithstanding clause is an attack on workers everywhere. Workers - especially education workers who help our kids every day - deserve our thanks, respect AND fair wages. They DON’T deserve the heavy-handed tactics of Ontario's Conservative govt.

On behalf of LiUNA we call on Minister to revoke anti-union legislation and restore the collective bargaining rights of CUPE Members and act in good faith to reach an agreement that prioritizes both keeping students in school and the rights and respect of all workers

This is a very bad day for human rights in Canada friends. Ontario’s “Keeping Students in Schools Act” is a full out assault on fundamental labour rights. And its casual use of the notwithstanding clause points to a deeply troubling trend. 1/7

Kind of shocking to me how comparatively little media attention violent attacks against political leaders get, and that runs from the Congressional softball shootings to the attack at the Pelosi household yesterday.

🗳🗳🗳 What we do together today will determine the leadership of Ottawa for the next 4 years - and possibly a decade. To vote for experience. And a sustainable and equitable city. Head to the polls and vote #McKenneyForMayor Then go get five friends to do the same. 🗳🗳🗳

Brutal. One of the many problems with @_MarkSutcliffe campaign beyond often being nasty is real disdain for ambitious climate action. G7 capitals around 🌎 are embracing more climate action not less - yes more bike lanes, less cars, free transit (for kids here!), more parks. twitter.com/_llebrun/statu…
