“If true” is the point. Go to the authorities with the evidence and proceed from there. Protect herself. I really hope there is real evidence to back this up because if none exists and this blows up it doesn’t serve her or him.

If not true I'd be annoyed but telling people to go to the cops and not tell anyone else only helps the abuser. If it's true I'm glad she came forward now.

If you say nothing about this abuse, it gives free reign for the abuser to hurt someone else. This doesn't make his next victim her fault. But she has the power to help save his next victim here.
