Can't believe you've pushed there whole POWER ISA 3.0 -- I mean all those decimal isns, VSX etc. Or are those parts optional parts only? -- I'm holding this thought since I read about your microwatt and open-sourcing POWER ISA step by IBM.
Well, POWER ISA 3.0B document is basically what documents ISA implemented by IBM POWER9. I guess this document is what IBM *will* open-source. Since it's basically POWER9 ISA, there is no note(s) about what's mandatory and what not there. At least I don't see any.
Since POWER ISA 3.0B is still (c) IBM, I'm looking forward to see POWER ISA 3.0C or 4.0 or whatever with (c) transferred to either power foundation or to linux foundation. There, perhaps we will see what's mandatory to claim CPU implements POWER ISA.
