I'm actually disappointed in @Karamo for lending his celebrity to this.https://twitter.com/rollingstone/status/1164203285819068422 …

I hope you are successful in that discussion. I would imagine there is a more direct way to facilitate that conversation that doesn't include elevating him to a platform where he is literally cheered for, but that is your business. I wish you the best.
Not his choice who was chosen or not. So? He’s just using his chosen platform to engage.
Calling Spicer a good and sweet guy based on one day’s interactions and completely ignoring what came before is a choice.https://twitter.com/evanrosskatz/status/1164317654691274752?s=21 …
he is a holocaust denier. He was a high ranking Trump official. This isn't someone's confused grandma, this is someone who has gotten our people killed & this show exists to rehabilitate his public image by having folks cheer for him.https://medium.com/the-establishment/reflections-during-passover-on-sean-spicers-holocaust-denial-aafa19185898 …
My suggestion is you use your sizable platform and public love to unite with other contestants and tell ABC to drop him. They will.
Exactly. All of this. The other celebs on the show should take a stand and say they won’t perform unless Spicer is removed. Continuing to participate is complicity as far as I’m concerned.
There is no engaging in a respectful way with Sean Spicer. It's not like meeting a Trump supporter for your show and having a one on one with them. This was a person in a position of tremendous power and influence who abused it and contributed to what's happening.
I completely agree, and I also think that it's important for all of us to cultivate the kind of attitude Karamo is modeling here.
yes, when it comes to interpersonal relationships. When it comes to taking a professional stand and refusing to work with fascists, it's different. I'm sorry, it has to start somewhere.
That's fair. It would send quite the message for Karamo to walk away now, with the massive amount of fans that would leave with him.
Correct. The only forms of meaningful protest we have right now are with our time/talent and our wallets.
For sure. I don’t think any of us are suggesting to not engage in respectful conversations with them. What we are saying is it’s disrespectful to our country to have a man who lied at the behest of Americans and ABC and DWTS wish to profit off of it.
Yes! If ABC wants to pay Mr. Brown to host a intervention /reconciliation interview with ss, I'd watch. It could be called "the Road Back" and with the turnover in this Whitehouse Karamo could be secure for several seasons.
“Only way things get better is if we try to educate those who have different POV than us.” Ah, yes, I remember learning how World War II was a great educational conversation that convinced the Nazis that genocide is bad!
All respect, but we aren’t talking about someone who just never gained the perspective he needed to do right, we’re talking about someone who absolutely knows what is going on and has cynically lied over and over. Spicer doesn’t deserve more chances, he deserves accountability.
Exactly. It’s about accountability. This is a fun cheesy show. They aren’t going to ask him tough questions. They are going to normalize him with silly bits and cheesy choreo. It’s just wrong.
It’s shockingly easy to end his 15 minutes. Just vote for any other person on the show. Poof. Done.
Voting means supporting the show and supporting the show says I’m okay with the decision to normalize Trump enablers. I am not, so I will not be watching or voting.
Even better. I’ve never bothered with Dancing with the Vaguely Recognizable myself, but it is easy to get this doofus off of TV in this case.
