Okay I love these clips but I have no idea how it works. It looks so stable! How are these shapes described as data? Is there a googlable name for the type of softbody sim you're doing?

My solver acts on points, and there are various 'goals' that act on different sets of points. Each closed curve has a goal which checks its enclosed area and applies a perpendicular pressure to all it's segments to reach a target area. For collisions - capsules for each segment..

are you doing anything special to preserve the topology like that ?

Just the collisions. I use capsules instead of spheres though, as they are less prone to squeezing through each other like this when things stretch, and still not too heavy to calculate, since it's just a line-line distance check.pic.twitter.com/F7A49uUhsh
