Thinking about staffing shortages and how over 600,000 people in US died of COVID alone in the last year and over 150,000 a day are getting sick and maybe this has more of an impact on staffing than, say, increased unemployment benefits

I work in a hospital, and we've lost tons of staff due to burnout because of exactly this. It is very sad.

One if my biggest fears is that it won't. We just spent a year of disabled ppl saying "all this remote work will disappear because society doesn't value us" and they were largely correct.
