The reforms under Dodd-Frank were created to ensure greater accountability and enforcement of the big banks. Hard-working American families deserve to have the peace of mind that they aren't going to be duped by a system designed for big banks to profit at their expense.
When I was Attorney General, I saw firsthand the devastation of the financial crisis, with more than 150K CA families losing their homes to foreclosure. My team fought to make things right for them, and in 2012 we delivered a $20B settlement from the big banks to CA homeowners.

Banks run off using the people's money, but the GOP wants to move to allow them to make money off of our money, giving us little return while they make huge and record profits and give "the people" as little protection as possible. Like the last financial crisis, it's a racket.
I am concerned as well assuming we have an undisciplined banking industry. Some say this is not the worse but I do believe that within the banking sector there are predators and we the people do not yet understand all the traps that poor national policies set up for consumers.

Republican Congresses always put us in a recession or depression. Then they blame it on the Democratic Administrations. They have done this for years in order to line their own pockets. The people they are supposed to serve starve and die. Shame on them.
