Remember that time you sued to be able to use prisoners for free labor? We do. Seems like as a representative of the state of California you had no problem profiting off of the incarceration of millions.

Privatization of any program meant to help the public puts the profit ahead of the public that is supposed to be served. The purpose of a prison is rehabilitation. The purpose of school is to educate, and of hospitals to heal the unwell. When profit comes first we all lose.
-
When this profit comes at the cost of our health and our freedom and our education, it is immoral.

Jared Kushner is for private prisons because he is friends with the men who are bidding for these prisons. Private prisons only make a profit if they are packed w/inmates. America has the largest prison population in the world. This has only gotten worse since privatization.
-
Don't forget that Jeff Sessions has stock in these prison's.

Unfortunately, prisons are more about slavery (free labor), business, and black socio-economic and political genocide as opposed to rehabilitation. This is why prisons flourish instead of people. Imagine if the same investments were made into people’s success and education.

Yes, and the justice system has targeted minority communities and privatizing will just increase this dehumanizing system that shld focus more on rehabilitation but does not! Less rehabilitation means more minorities needing to rely on govt., who may eventually end back in prison
