Women’s health is under-emphasized & undervalued. Maternal emergency protocols lag in development. Low income urban & rural women live in healthcare deserts. Lack of consistent, regular care is risky. In the US, maternity is as dangerous as a serious illness. Happy Mother’s Day.

We’re certainly not going to reverse the maternal death rate by sabotaging the ACA or cutting CHIP, Medicaid and the diagnostic/preventive/treatment care of Planned Parenthood. And we’re not going to cut it by financially strangling safety net hospitals until they close.
