Government has no business setting wages. The market determines wages. With that idealogy might as well set your Slogan as the fight for fifty. Just pick a number that rolls off the tongue. Ridiculous

There's no such animal as the "free market" anymore, because we got sick and tired of child labor, the company towns, insane hours for very little pay, insanely unsafe practices, and other things that the monopolies also argued that the government has no business regulating.

Minimum wage is a starting place for people getting work experience starting out in a certain indusrry Kamala. It was never meant to live on or support a family. Not everyone can sleep their way to the top, and make a over paid salary by the tax payers

A person close to me has worked for the same company for 6 years. She started at minimum wage. Increases are so small she she is making little more than when she started. Shes only given 28 hours a week so they don't have to give her benefits. She's 70 years old.

Look I started out with a minimum wage job and shared expenses with roomates. I worked hard and got raises and promotion to be able to support myself, its called work ethics. That's why there is the forgotten in today's society. The government trashed us out.
-
Maybe so, but minimum wage hasn’t kept up with inflation, which means (1) that those making minimum wage now are effectively making far less than you did, & (2) the artificially low minimum wage is keeping ALL wages down.
