The 'risk assessment' systems for bail (& for probation/parole) are often very bad—using proxies to covertly bias against poor & minority ppl. It looks fair, but in many or most systems it is not.

Risk assessment tools are based on racist police data. The truth is that most people are not a "danger to their community", people should be free pretrial and not have their lives completely destabilized because of an allegation.
