  In the 1930's MGM was going to make a movie about the Armenian genocide based on Austrian writer Franz Werfel's novel "The 40 Days of Musa Dagh". The Turks got wind of it, complained to Pres. Roosevelt. He in turn put pressure on MGM's Louis B. Mayer. The movie was never made.
