No one should be forced to live in poverty, whether they're working 40 hours a week or not. I'm not saying the world owes everyone a cushy life, but nobody should have to go without clean air and water, healthy food, a safe place to sleep, medical care, and education.

Are you related to Bernie Sanders? Minimum wage jobs were never intended to be a career choice. Maybe if you'd stop taxing workers to death so you can give their hard earned money to people who don't work at all, they're lives would improve. Just a thought ...

Employers have taken advantage of minimum to its fullest making it the only career choice for many educated people. Minimum as career choice was made by employers, not workers. Even beyond that most jobs pay less than they did 20 years ago for skilled and professional workers.

AND once minimum wage is actually a living wage, whenever Congress votes itself a cost of living raise, minimum wage should be raised by the same percentage.

Dear Ms. Harris, Equal pay..I am 62, my male partner is 62. I called SS to see how much I would make if I retire. $644 for me he makes $1136. I have worked more years and sometimes 2 and 3 jobs just to make ends meet. Could you live off that?
