Maybe because he's more trustworthy as his campaign financing comes from more small dollar sources and he is both socially and economically progressive, relatively speaking. That isn't to say that he is perfect, but looking at the financing of politicians tells you a lot.

And might I be so bold as to add: part of the key to victory in 2018, and 2020, is to put up good, progressive Dems who are not perceived as corporate Dems who are OK on social issues.
