I strongly support our men and women in uniform and believe we must hold Assad accountable for his unconscionable use of chemical weapons. But I am deeply concerned about the legal rationale of last night’s strikes.

In an emergency (like the ones in Syria),---it never hurts to have well thought out plans. Wise Plans can save a lot of trouble & a lot of lives. However we do not seem to have a wise majority GOP nor a wise president. Always learn what to expect when you Vote!

War Powers Act 1973. It’s a good read. Check it out. Let me sum it up for you since research isn’t your forte. The President must consult with and inform Congress of intentions to deploy military in foreign lands. It does NOT say that he MUST have a declaration of war to do so.

If Congress is so determined to go to war with Syria then Congress should put it in writing and bring it before the President.
