This is why our campaign is calling for 100% #PaperBallot audits. In California, we use a private company EVMs that are vulnerable to hacking. We need public ownership of OUR elections. The current Sec. of State can decertify these machines, but hasn't. That's why I'm running. :)

We need paper ballots, not a machine with a paper receipt. Perhaps the receipt shows your accurate vote in the moment...but what if that machine malfunctions and changes your vote after the fact? Or worse, is engineered to do so?pic.twitter.com/k06sJU2Eg5

Lady, I'm running for CA Secretary of State which is the person in charge of election systems. We are advocating for 100%
#PaperBallot audits at the precinct, publicly owned systems and#OpenSource software. I'll be on the CA ballot in June. :)http://www.rubenmajor.com - 2 more replies

In Portland we vote by mail. They mail us a ballot, we mail it back or drop it off at convenient spots like the local library. Safe, convenient, secure. And it supports USPS.

If paper ballots are the only thing that really counts and they are always validated, then semi-secure parallel e-voting machines over the Internet are fine. It's just non-validated returns & which always have to match up later to the paper ballots and any differences explained.

We’ve voted on unaccountable proprietary software for
#FIFTEENYears. How do you think we got in this mess? Electronic voting should be illegal. - 2 more replies

Thank you! Paper ballots and mandatory risk limiting audits.

Right now California struggles just to get 1% just audits done in selected areas and they don't even have to include provisional ballots. We can do much better. We need a
