She's saying past the retirement age no one should have to flip burgers. She uses flipping burgers because of how little it pays and it's harder for people above 65 to find a decent job.

How many Americans have anything saved for retirement? Less than 50%. Who owns that problem? Americans. There is nothing that is preventing them from stashing 5¢ for every dollar to survive during their elder years.

Yeah there is when the wages are not a living wage, jobs don't give 40 hrs to have benefits or even if they do healthcare & ed is unaffordable. This is not a savings problem it is a corruption & propaganda problem.

My mother has to come out of retirement just to pay for the dentist

That is exactly why I had to go back to work at 70. No dental. Just when the elderly need it. No vision either. I had to work sometimes 3 jobs. Paycheck to paycheck. Everyone's circumstances are different. I worked for 50 yrs and SS has me at a below poverty rate !
