YES!!!!!! There are 2 different justice systems in this country - 1 for the rich/famous/connected citizens and another for everyone else.
Whether someone stays in jail before trial or not is far too often determined by wealth or social connections, even though just a few days behind bars can cost people their job, home, custody of their children — or their life. We need to reform our discriminatory bail system.

Yes, and too often people (like myself) end up in jail because of a mental health crisis being treated as criminal intent. We need to reform our discriminatory approach to mental health and alleviate jails, courts, bail sysyems, 1st responders.

There are a lot of cases where putting someone behind bars simply doesn’t make sense, and there should be alternatives so someone who has a financial obligation, such as to an ex spouse, can continue earning while being reprimanded.
