Could we also keep in mind that there are people with chronic pain needs who are frightened to hear about flat across the board slicing of drug availability? We need to identify abuse versus need. Unless you are in pain, you can easily say meds aren't necessary.

I'm fairly sure if ur pain management specialist is prescribing u pain meds the reforms being considered won't affect u, I'm seen at the VA medical facility in West LA nd was receiving MS contin 30 mgs. BID for chronic back nd spine issues that was for 4 years or so.

So then let's decriminalize all narcotics. Then it can be handled like the health crisis it is, instead of the means through which we shuttle citizens into for-profit prisons.

Thank you. Also, go after the real pushers. The drug companies.

There is a lawsuit going around for the major distribution companies for these opioids, may take a long time but it is on process

They own private prisons. They don’t want to help people they want to profit from human suffering and in order to maximize profits it would be in their twisted self interest to cause said suffering.

Yep, bc by not treating the addictions while they have them, they 100% know the statistics of people "reoffending". It's willfull that they don't provide mental health rehab (for life!). Which we all know, would be cheaper than incarcerating drug addicts long term.

Senator Harris: Ibogaine is the only known medicine that STOPS opioid addiction and does it in one does. It needs to be researched, but research into it is illegal in the US. I'd be happy to send you a copy of the book I wrote about it.https://www.amazon.com/Rehab-Doesnt-Work-overnight-withdrawal/dp/0615826423/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1521682140&sr=8-1&keywords=rehab+doesn%27t+work …

#1 reason locking ppl up w/mental health issues (even addiction bc that's a mental health issue) is a horrible solution is that once they've done their "time" they're released with no chance of help. IF they need to be locked up, let's actually HELP them.

Yeah!~ We tried that. It failed and we now have more people in jail than any other nation. America land of the free and home of the most oppressive penal system on earth.

Maybe people should follow the law then...
