Very proud of all the students walking out today. In particular my daughter, Maria, who helped 26 students register/preregister to vote during the walkout she helped organize at Fort Bragg Unified in Northern CA.
Our students are out there protesting and mourning the loss of their classmates. They have lost their innocence knowing they have to be prepared for what might be a massacre in their own schools. #NationalWalkoutDay

Those of us who were activists in the 60s and 70s know the value of participating in government, whether through peaceful protest, meeting with MoC, etc. It is active education. I'm proud of these kids for their actions, sad that they must do it.
