My mother was in a nursing home for 4 years in NJ and if it was not for Medicaid, my father would have had to pay $10k a month. He also could afford a lawyer to help with the application. Not everyone is so lucky.

Also, ALL THOSE PEOPLE getting treatment because of Medicaid CREATES & SUSTAINS JOBS IN THE HEALTH CARE INDUSTRY. To the GOP wanting to SLASH Medicaid to save themselves some tax dollars, I say: There are cascading, negative effects to such actions.

Don't forget low income seniors living on social security, in desperate need of nursing care. Like a 92-year-old woman, low income her whole life, now in full-stage dementia. Medicaid-funded nursing home. My mother.
