Another glaring example of the anti-education GOP. Remember Trump's strange comment: "I love the undereducated." I was so puzzled by his words but now realize how easy it is for him to deceive an uninformed or misinformed public.Advance degreed people possess crucial knowledge.

The uneducated are easiest to manipulate. And that is one of the root problems in this country, and how an oligarchy can flourish. Bread and circuses.

Let's be clear; It would make graduate school unaffordable to all except the very, very wealthy. This is how you kill science in the US. Start at the beginning of the pipeline of innovation and new ideas, and tax young scientists to extinction. Please make this issue your cause.

Not just science. The House GOP's
#GradStudentTax would be a disaster for all graduate education & research in the USA. It would also be a disaster for _undergraduate_ education - consider how much teaching is done by grad students.

It's almost as if the GOP is targeting the Middle Income (hate "middle class, aint no such thing) and Poor. No health care, no representation, no education... more women in politics is the only way out. ...elect
@KamalaHarris in 2020. -

Thank you for highlighting this important issue, Senator!
@NAGPS & grad students across the country oppose these provisions in the House bill and we’re counting on your support on defending higher education.#ReworkTheReformThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

No grad student already under a 4 yr undergrad loan burden who achieves a scholarship and annual stipend to teach or research should have that award taxed so high they can't afford to stay!! Earn 25K but have to pay taxes on 85K+ is advanced/PhD degree killer. This is heartless!

Mine is pursuing her PhD in Neuropharmacology w/emphasis in Alzheimer'a & early onset dementia, and gets a $60,000 waiver for a minimum of 5 years, stipend is $21,000 for Springfield, IL cost of living. She'd be hard pressed not to leave the program if this scam passes. So mad!

How will America compete in the years to come if we're gutting education in order to provide the richest families in America even more rewards? This is disgraceful.The GOP is actively working *against* America.
